Nationwide severe thunderstorm warnings alerting of significant hail and wind gusts of up to 90 km/h were issued.
On Friday afternoon and evening, experts said severe thunderstorms delivered strong gusts, heavy rain and lightning.
With powerful wind speeds reaching 90 km/h, a group of severe thunderstorms swiftly swept east and might have snapped tree branches and damaged fragile buildings.

The weather alert read, "The main threats for these storms will be locally heavy rain, very strong wind gusts, and pea-sized hail."
Environment and Changes in Climate Canada cautioned of strong rain causing flash floods in Alberta and northern British Columbia as well as in the south.
