Uber has introduced a novel feature catering to families' needs by launching accounts tailored for teenagers in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Jordan.
This initiative aims to address the challenges faced by busy families in ensuring the safety of their children while managing hectic schedules.
The process of setting up an Uber Teen account is straightforward. Parents can initiate the setup by inviting their teenagers to the Family Profile section of the Uber application. Once the teenager accepts the invitation and completes mandatory safety onboarding, they gain access to request Uber rides independently, under parental supervision.
To improve safety, the platform has integrated various protective measures into its service. These include live trip tracking, enabling parents to monitor their teen's ride in real-time. Moreover, PIN verification ensures that teenagers board the correct Uber vehicle with the designated driver. The use of RideCheck technology further enhances safety by promptly identifying any unexpected trip issues. Additionally, the option for audio recording during rides and direct communication between parents and the assigned driver are available. Notably, only highly-rated and experienced drivers are eligible to receive trip requests from teenagers.
