An innovative new nonstop route between Surat and Dubai has been introduced by Air India Express.
The new international terminal at Surat Airport was unveiled at the same time as this effort, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi was present at the ceremony. As The airline's commitment to Surat's growth story is evident as it establishes a direct link between the "City of Diamonds" and the "City of Gold."
Route Inauguration and Connectivity:
Dubai International Airport was the destination of the first flight, which carried 171 people and demonstrated Air India Express's commitment to provide direct connections between Surat and Dubai. With four weekly flights planned between Surat and Dubai, the airline has firmly established itself as the leading operator of international flights departing from Surat. The airline also offers five flights per week between Surat and Sharjah.
Strategic Expansion and Fleet Growth:
Aloke Singh, the managing director of Air India Express, emphasised the airline's commitment to Surat's development and identified the city as an ideal location for its new fleet. This strategic move aligns with the company's plans to expand and contribute to the city's economic prosperity.
Future Plans and Gulf Connectivity:
Several Gulf states, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates, are being considered for possible capacity extensions by Air India Express. In his presentation on the airline's long-term strategy, Singh stressed the need to connect Gulf customers at Tier 2 and Tier 3 destinations across India.
