The Canadian Railways Authority announced the suspension of network services in some Canadian regions as a result of the forest fires.
The National Railway Authority of Canada explained in its official statement about the suspension of service between Fort St.John and Fort Nelson in British Columbia and North High Level in Alberta.
It is worth noting that the city of Fort Nelson sent smoke columns over five provinces, and the city was evacuated on one line of the first wildfires of the season in Canada, as the fires extended to 10,000 hectares across western Canada.
Forest fires in Canada have also spread to some parts of the northern United States of America, and the winter season is warm with reduced snowfall.
This comes after Canada witnessed the worst forest fire seasons last year, coinciding with the lack of snowfall in many areas, and this raised fears of a hot summer leading to fires in forests and wild lands due to the continuous drying of forest trees.
It is worth noting that Civil Defense in Canada has been warned of the intense forest fires that are striking cities in western Canada, especially after recent forecasts from the Canadian Weather Service indicating the presence of strong winds that are fueling the fire and causing it to get out of control, forcing the government to evacuate thousands of citizens.
According to what was announced by the British newspaper The Guardian, the fire extended two kilometers northwest of Fort Nelson, and about 3,500 people have already been evacuated, after the Canadian government issued an order that citizens must leave last Friday.
It is worth noting that the forest fires in Canada, which are currently threatening Fort Nelson, continue to grow according to recent expectations, and the latest update announced last Sunday also indicates that the forest fires have swelled to approximately 53 square kilometers.
It is also noteworthy that Fort Nelson is located in the far northeast of British Columbia, and the city is located about 1,600 kilometers (995 miles) from the city of Vancouver.
