In a recent email to its employees, Emirates Group announced a comprehensive enhancement of employee compensation and benefits, set to take effect in July 2024.
Salary Increase Announcement
The company will implement a four percent increase in the basic salary for all its employees, reflecting the group's continued commitment to rewarding its workforce following a remarkable financial performance.
This salary hike follows a substantial bonus award to employees, equivalent to 20 weeks of their salary, in recognition of the company's record-breaking financial success. Additionally, employees will see a four percent increase in their transport allowance and UAE national retention allowance. For flight deck and cabin crew, there will be a four percent increase in flying and productivity pay. Moreover, housing allowances will rise by 10-15%, depending on the employee’s grade within the company.
The specifics of these salary adjustments will be detailed in contractual adjustment letters, set to be distributed on July 22. However, not all employees will benefit from these increments. Those on final warnings, undergoing disciplinary proceedings that could lead to dismissal, still on probation as of July 1, 2024, or serving notice will not receive these hikes.
The salary and allowance enhancements are part of the 2024 Pay and Benefits Review, approved by the group’s chairman, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum. This review underscores Emirates Group's dedication to enhancing the welfare of its employees.
Extended leave benefits
In addition to pay increases, Emirates is also introducing several other benefits. Maternity leave will be extended from 60 days to 90 days, while paternity leave will be doubled from five days to ten days. New mothers will also benefit from an extended nursing break, increasing from one hour to two hours.
Furthermore, employees in Grades 1 to 5 will no longer need to contribute to their life insurance premiums, as the company will now cover these costs. Starting September 1, 2024, certain grades will also enjoy enhanced long-term sick leave benefits. Additionally, the education support allowance will be increased by 10 percent starting in September.

The company is actively hiring more pilots, flight attendants, and engineers to support its expanding operations. Earlier this year, Emirates announced plans to hire 5,000 cabin crew members in 2024, reflecting its growth and the need to maintain high service standards.
