The CEO of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, announced a substantial increase in the number of requests received through the "Al-Namoos" service. In the past year, the requests to deliver electricity to projects using this service surged by 94.4% compared to 2022.
The total number of applications reached 7,885, indicating the robust performance of diverse economic sectors in Dubai. This growth reflects Dubai's commitment to supporting sustainability, fostering growth, and solidifying its status as a global city and a premier destination for living and working.
The increasing need for cutting-edge services, according to Al Tayer, proves that Dubai can implement its Economic Agenda D33. In accordance with the most stringent international standards, the Dubai Energy and Water Authority is committed to delivering smart services that provide the fastest possible access to water and energy. In turn, this makes it easier for investors and partners to work together, which guarantees efficiency and saves time.
Rashid bin Humaidan, the Executive Vice President of the Energy Distribution Sector at DEWA, highlighted that the "Al-Namoos" service is part of the Authority's continuous efforts to enhance business performance and facilitate services for industrial, commercial, and residential projects. The number of accredited consultants and contractors with the Authority reached 2,541 by December 31, 2023.
The "Al-Namoos" service, named after the Emirati dialect word for the winner of a race, streamlines the process of delivering electricity to projects with loads of up to 150 kilowatts. The service ensures swift procedures, completing the delivery in just two steps and five days. Accredited consultants and contractors can digitally submit their requests, aligning with DEWA's commitment to technological advancement and efficiency.
