During this year's Ramadan season, the Saudi Railway Company (SAR) reported a significant rise in passenger numbers, with over a million individuals utilizing their services, marking a notable 22 percent increase compared to the previous year's Holy Month period.
SAR specifically highlighted the performance of its flagship service, the Haramain Express Train, which conducted a total of 2,845 trips during this year's Ramadan period. This figure represents a notable 12 percent surge in trips compared to the corresponding period in the previous year. The primary aim behind this increased operational activity was to facilitate the smooth and convenient performance of religious rituals by pilgrims.
Central to SAR's strategy for managing the heightened demand during Ramadan was the enhancement of the Haramain Express train's capacity. This focus on increasing capacity proved to be one of the pivotal elements of SAR's operational plan for the season.
Furthermore, SAR emphasized the meticulous execution of its operational plan for the Haramain Express Train during Ramadan. This implementation adhered to a meticulously devised mechanism that had received prior approval. Collaboration with key stakeholders, including the Saudi-Spanish Railway Project Company and relevant government entities, played a crucial role in ensuring the seamless execution of the operational plan.
By effectively coordinating with all relevant parties, SAR aimed to provide pilgrims with efficient and reliable transportation services during the sacred month of Ramadan. The successful execution of these plans not only contributed to accommodating the increased influx of passengers but also underscored SAR's commitment to meeting the transportation needs of its passengers while prioritizing their comfort and convenience, particularly during significant religious occasions.
