The UAE Ministry of Interior revealed the UAE roads most prone to accidents, according to the statistics it published today.
Top 10 UAE roads most prone to accidents
The Ministry of Interior explained the statistics on open data for road safety for the year 2023, about the roads and streets most prone to accidents in the UAE.
1- Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road came in first place for the roads most prone to accidents, and it is one of the main roads, as it extends from Al Falah to Ras Al Khaimah.
The number of people involved in accidents on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road reached 266, injuries reached 223 people, and 43 people died.
2- Emirates Road
It is the second most accident-prone road in the Emirates, as 122 cases were recorded on the road, including 104 injuries of varying degrees, and 18 deaths.
3- Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai
Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai came in third place, with 147 cases of road accidents recorded, including 131 injuries and 16 deaths.
4- Abu Dhabi Al Ain Road
Abu Dhabi Al-Ain Road came in fourth place, with 174 cases of infection and 13 deaths recorded.
5- Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Road
A total of 146 cases were recorded, including 12 deaths and 134 infections.
6- Abu Dhabi Al Sila Road
Abu Dhabi Al Sila Road came in sixth place, with 73 cases recorded, including 62 infections and 11 deaths.
7- Abu Dhabi Al Ain Road
29 cases were recorded, including 19 cases of infection and 10 deaths.
8- Liwa - Turaif Road
Liwa Road - Turaif Road came in eighth place, where 31 cases were recorded, including 24 cases of infection and 7 deaths.
9- Khor Fakkan Road, Sharjah
14 cases were recorded, including 7 deaths and 17 rape cases.
10- Al Khalidubai Street - United Arab Emirates
Al Khail Road in Dubai came in tenth place, with 159 cases recorded, including 154 infections and 5 deaths.
Continue to focus on road safety
For his part, the director of the RoadSafetyUAE website, Mr. Thomas Edelman, confirmed that the recent increase in injuries and accidents is somewhat worrying, stressing that the group of agencies will continue to focus on road safety.
But at the same time, he stressed that the general picture shows a positive development, given the significant decrease in the number of deaths compared to the year 2022, when 352 deaths were recorded on the roads throughout the United Arab Emirates.
