The Roads and Transport Authority in the United Arab Emirates announced the countries that recognize the Emirati driving license, which includes the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, in addition to other countries around the world.
Countries that recognize the UAE driving license
The Roads and Transport Authority in the UAE explained that the UAE driving license is recognized in the Gulf Cooperation Council, which numbers 5 countries, in addition to 47 other countries around the world, in accordance with the mutual agreements between the UAE and these countries.
Obtaining a driving license in the UAE
It is worth noting that the UAE imposes certain and strict conditions in accordance with Federal Traffic Law No. 21 of 1995, including the legal age for applicants to obtain a driving license, in addition to the necessity of passing a medical examination and safety of eyesight.
Pass the driving test
In addition, the applicant for a driving license in the Emirates must pass a driving examination in accordance with the regulations and decisions of the Emirati law for Emirati citizens, and for expatriates, a valid residence permit in Dubai is required.

The Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai also provides the possibility of renewing the driving license through the authority’s website, through self-service machines (kiosks) and trusted agents, or through the authority’s smart applications, and also through the Mahboob automated speaker feature.
