As part of the festive cheer, Abu Dhabi gears up to welcome the New Year with a spectacular announcement free parking and toll-free roads on January 1, 2024.
Abu Dhabi's New Year Celebration with Toll-Free Roads and Free Parking
The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) under the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi is orchestrating this delightful initiative, ensuring a hassle-free and joyous start to the year.
Timings and operations unveiled
The ITC has meticulously detailed its operations during the New Year holiday, aligning with its commitment to customer satisfaction. Surface parking spots, the lifeline for many commuters, will embrace a fee waiver on Monday, January 1, 2024. This presents an excellent opportunity for residents and visitors to traverse the city without the customary parking expenses.
Parking etiquette reminders
While the city opens its arms to free parking, the ITC issues a gentle reminder to drivers. Parking in prohibited areas and obstructing traffic flow is discouraged, emphasizing the importance of adhering to parking regulations. The call extends to parking responsibly in designated areas and refraining from occupying residential parking spaces from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m.
The Darb toll gate system will be provided at no cost on Monday, January 1, 2024, as part of the celebrations for the New Year. It will resume regular operations on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, excluding peak hours from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Enhanced public bus services
In tandem with the celebratory spirit, public bus services will operate based on weekend and official holiday schedules. The frequency of trips between Abu Dhabi and its suburbs, as well as inter-emirate trips, will witness an increase. Notably, there will be a boost in the number of trips on the free bus service No. 408 to and from the Sheikh Zayed Festival, catering to the needs of festival-goers.
Accessible digital platforms
While the Customer Happiness Centers take a brief hiatus on Monday, January 1, 2024, resuming operations on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, customers can seamlessly access ITC services through digital platforms. The ITC's website, TAMM platform, and the Darb and Darbi smart apps provide convenient channels for service applications. Additionally, a 24/7 helpline, the unified Service Support Center of the Department of Municipalities and Transport, ensures continuous assistance at the toll-free number 800850 and the taxi call center 600535353.
Abu Dhabi's thoughtful initiatives promise a smooth transition into the New Year, exemplifying a commitment to resident satisfaction and the spirit of celebration.
