Daman Health Insurance is extending its coverage to include esteemed Abu Dhabi hospitals and revising its premium and co-payment systems.
Adjustments to Premiums and Co-payments
Daman Health Insurance is undergoing adjustments to its premium and co-payment structures while simultaneously expanding its coverage to encompass prestigious hospitals in Abu Dhabi. Effective July 1, certain policyholders will experience increases in premiums and co-payments, with the offset being access to esteemed healthcare facilities.
Basic health insurance premiums for domestic assistants supported by the UAE would increase from Dh600 to Dh750 for those under the age of 60. Other parts of the basic plan will also undergo similar revisions, while the finer points of the premium modifications are still up in the air.
Increased co-payment fees
Furthermore, certain co-payments will see an escalation. Presently, basic plan subscribers are exempt from standard extra fees for in-patient services and one-day procedures unless these services surpass the insurance coverage. However, under the forthcoming changes, subscribers to the basic policy will be obligated to pay a Dh200 fee for each in-patient service and one-day procedure, capped at Dh500 annually.
Moreover, diagnostic services and laboratory tests, which currently incur a minimal Dh10 charge in addition to the Dh20 co-payment for physical consultations, will now be subject to a 20 percent co-payment, with a maximum charge of Dh50 per visit. Meanwhile, medication coverage will remain fixed at Dh1,500 per year, with a 30 percent co-payment fee.
Expansion of Coverage to Elite Healthcare Facilities
These adjustments align with the expansion of National Health Insurance's basic plan coverage to include distinguished healthcare facilities. Policyholders will now gain access to world-class hospitals where prominent leaders and royals receive treatment. Notable establishments include Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, renowned for adult cardiac surgery and stroke treatment; Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City, a center of excellence for stroke care; and Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, recognized for pediatric cardiac surgery.
While Daman Health Insurance is implementing changes to premiums and co-payments, it is concurrently enhancing its value proposition by affording policyholders access to elite healthcare facilities. This ensures that policyholders receive high-quality medical care when needed, thus underscoring the company's commitment to prioritizing the health and well-being of its members.
