The Dubai Metro is implementing new daily protocols to enhance passenger safety, as stated on Tuesday by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai has recently announced the implementation of new daily protocols at Dubai Metro stations aimed at enhancing passenger safety. The "crowd management protocols" will come into effect during peak hours, specifically from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
To ensure smooth implementation, passengers are encouraged to plan their trips in advance. Informational signboards will be strategically placed throughout the stations, providing guidance to commuters.
Additionally, RTA personnel will be stationed on-site to assist and direct passengers as needed. In light of these changes, the RTA has extended its apologies for any inconvenience caused to passengers and emphasizes that their primary objective is to facilitate safe and efficient transportation for all commuters.
Furthermore, it is noted that the Dubai Metro has not yet fully resumed operations following the unprecedented rainfall on April 16. As a result, four stations—Onpassive, Equiti, Al Mashreq, and Energy—remain closed until further notice. In response to this situation, the RTA issued an advisory, advising commuters to avoid using the Metro during peak hours and to plan their journeys accordingly based on the operational status of the stations.
These measures underscore the RTA's commitment to ensuring the well-being of passengers and maintaining the smooth functioning of the Dubai Metro system. By implementing crowd management protocols and providing clear communication to commuters, the RTA aims to mitigate disruptions and enhance the overall passenger experience during peak hours.
