The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque has allocated specific entrances at the Grand Mosque in Makkah to accommodate pilgrims.
This declaration coincides with the commencement of the Umar season's height, which is the holy month of Ramadan.
These new arrangements have been orchestrated in collaboration with governmental entities operating within the Grand Mosque. With the holy month of Ramadan anticipated to attract a substantial influx of millions of pilgrims from across the Kingdom and beyond, Saudi authorities have undertaken comprehensive measures and preparations to facilitate pilgrims and worshippers in the performance of their rituals with the utmost convenience and comfort.
The Grand Mosque currently has many gates specifically for Umrah pilgrims, including King Abdulaziz Gate, King Fahd Gate, Al-Salam Gate, and Umrah Gate. In addition, they are allowed to use the following ground floor doors: 85–93 (with the exception of 88), the Ajyad Staircase, the Ajyad Bridge, the Shubaika Stairways 65–66, the King Fahd Stairways 91–92, and Stairway 84.
Correspondingly, specified exits have been identified, including side crossings 78–80, Stairway 74, conventional stairways 71, 72, 73, 85, and 88, the King Fahd staircase, doors 75, 76, 77, and 81–83, and the Al-Shubika staircase reserved for emergency scenarios.
These exits complement primary gateways like the King Abdulaziz Gate, King Fahd Gate, Umrah Gate, and Al-Zubair Gate on the ground floor, alongside elevated passages such as the Ajyad Bridge, Shubaika Bridge, Othman Bridge, and King Fahd Elevators on the first floor. For the convenience of individuals with special needs, designated elevators are accessible at various points, including the Al-Arqam Stairway, Umrah Gate, Ajyad Stairway, and Marwa Stairway on the second floor and roof levels.
