Saudi Arabia introduces First Tourist Spot in Yanbu, Beach Escape & Boutique

asmaa - | Arab News

The Royal Commission waterfront area in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia, is set to undergo a remarkable transformation according to a new project unveiled by the Baheej Tourism Development business, a partnership between the Tamimi-AWN Alliance and ASFAR, the Saudi tourism investment business controlled by the Public Investment Fund (PIF).

Yanbu's Historical and Cultural Significance

By fusing contemporary attractions with Yanbu's rich cultural and historical legacy, this massive construction hopes to increase the city's attractiveness as a top tourist destination.

The initial phase of Baheej's project in Yanbu will span 32,000 square meters and include three major components: a beach escape, a tourist activation center, and a lifestyle hotel. These facilities are designed to offer a comprehensive and sustainable tourism experience. In addition, a fourth component is planned, details of which will be revealed at a later date. Each of these elements is expected to provide unique and enriching experiences for visitors, setting a new standard for tourism in the region.

Yanbu's history dates back to the 16th century, characterized by its unique architectural marvels and picturesque sandy beaches. The city's rich cultural heritage and historical significance make it an ideal location for Baheej's ambitious project. By showcasing Yanbu’s distinctive identity, Baheej aims to attract tourists interested in exploring both its historical roots and natural beauty. This blend of the past and present is central to Baheej's vision for the city.

Baheej envisions Yanbu as an iconic destination that highlights Saudi Arabia’s rich culture, history, and natural wonders. The company aims to offer one-of-a-kind, inspiring experiences to visitors. According to Nora Al Tamimi, CEO of Baheej, the goal is to uncover and promote Saudi Arabia’s hidden gems through strategic collaborations that create unparalleled visitor experiences. Yanbu’s contemporary infrastructure, captivating environment, and coastal landscapes make it a prime gateway to the Red Sea Riviera.

The project will be developed in three phases, with a strong emphasis on community engagement, sustainability, and minimal environmental impact. Al Tamimi has outlined a meticulous approach that includes analyzing risks and investment opportunities to ensure that Yanbu becomes a sought-after tourist destination, both locally and internationally. By integrating local culture and emphasizing environmental sustainability, Baheej aims to enhance Yanbu’s appeal and foster regional development.

Alignment with Saudi Vision 2030

Saudi Vision 2030 aims to promote a thriving economy and society, and Baheej's proposal is in line with those larger goals. Baheej, a destination management firm and diversified developer, is committed to creating sustainable, locally relevant, and accessible tourist experiences that satisfy global standards. The goal of these projects is to help turn Saudi communities into sustainable, prosperous tourist hotspots.

Baheej's commitment to reshaping urban spaces extends beyond Yanbu. The company plans to announce additional projects in other cities by the end of the year, underscoring its strategic vision for regional development. These projects will focus on integrating community heritage and environmental stewardship, reflecting Baheej's holistic approach to urban revitalization. By leveraging its expertise and resources, Baheej aims to create vibrant, sustainable urban environments across Saudi Arabia.

Baheej Tourism Development Company's project in Yanbu represents a significant step towards transforming the city into a premier tourist destination. By combining modern attractions with Yanbu's rich historical and cultural heritage, Baheej aims to offer unique and sustainable tourism experiences. This initiative not only aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 but also sets a new standard for tourism development in the region. As Baheej continues to expand its efforts across Saudi Arabia, the company remains committed to creating thriving, sustainable destinations that celebrate local culture and natural beauty.
