The Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Eng. Ahmed Al-Rajhi, anticipates the issuance of over 59,000 seasonal visas for various professions from multiple countries in 2024.
Addressing businessmen at the Makkah Chamber of Commerce headquarters, Al-Rajhi emphasized the significance of utilizing Saudi talent in seasonal employment, fostering the empowerment of Saudi youth in professions conducive to their skill development.
Highlighting the supportive role of seasonal visas in facilitating company operations during specific periods, such as Hajj and Umrah, Al-Rajhi stressed the importance of ensuring visa holders are restricted to their designated tasks and prohibited from participating in Hajj activities.
Al-Rajhi further announced the establishment of a collaborative working team between his ministry and the Makkah Chamber to address challenges and capitalize on opportunities, particularly those arising during the Hajj and Umrah seasons, and to provide recommendations.
During discussions with businessmen, Al-Rajhi noted a surge in Saudi employment within the private sector, rising from 1.7 million to 2.3 million. He applauded the private sector's support in advancing development initiatives and bolstering the labor market strategy, highlighting the significant increase in female participation, exceeding the Vision 2030 target of 30%.
Eng. Mustafa Rajab, Vice Chairman of the Makkah Chamber's Board of Directors, outlined the chamber's endeavors to foster economic growth and societal support. He underscored the chamber's commitment to aligning with Vision 2030 objectives, leveraging its strategic location near the Grand Mosque to serve as a hub for Muslim trade.
Rajab elaborated on initiatives like the Makkah Halal Forum, aimed at promoting Islamic commerce, reflecting the chamber's dedication to realizing its vision of fostering economic prosperity and societal well-being in line with the kingdom's overarching goals.
