Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), Mohammed bin Salman, announced the launch of Alat Company, aiming to position Saudi Arabia as a global hub for electronics and advanced industries.
The company plans to create 39,000 direct jobs and contribute $9.3 billion to the non-oil GDP of Saudi Arabia by 2030.
According to PIF, Alat will be a leader in the country when it comes to the environmentally friendly production of technological goods, especially high-tech gadgets and electronics. It will run on seven main strategic business units: sophisticated industries and semiconductors, smart homes, smart healthcare, smart electronics, smart structures, and next-gen infrastructure.
Increasing Saudi Arabia's technical skills, the tech sector's contribution to local content, and the country's attractiveness for investment are the company's goals.
With a focus on innovation, manufacturing, and research and development, Alat plans to create partnerships with leading international players in manufacturing and technology. These collaborations will contribute to the transformation of the global industrial sector by providing sustainable solutions based on clean energy sources. The company will manufacture a diverse range of products, including robotic systems, communication systems, advanced computers, digital entertainment products, and heavy machinery used in construction.
Alat's strategic partnerships are expected to meet commercial demand, support the next generation of manufacturing needs, strengthen local supply chains, and position Saudi Arabia as a global center for advanced technological manufacturing. The company will prioritize sustainability, aiming to access clean energy resources in Saudi Arabia to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060, aligning with PIF's goal of being carbon neutral by 2050.
The establishment of Alat aligns with PIF's broader strategy to expand in priority sectors, strengthen local supply chains, and contribute to economic diversification and sustainable growth, in line with the Saudi Vision 2030.
