The Ministry of Media's Center for Government Communication (CGC), in partnership with the Pilgrim Experience Program (PEP), has initiated the 'Hajj and Umrah Mediathon'.
This collaborative effort seeks to stimulate creative thinking, develop projects, and find solutions to media-related challenges encountered during the coverage of Hajj and Umrah.
There are several phases to the MEDIATHON, such as the launch, selection, marathon days, qualifying, to bridging. Mediathon, which can be accessed online at Mediathon.media.gov.sa, provides a platform for participation. The goal is to get more people involved and come up with new ideas for media campaigns that will improve the way Hajj and Umrah are covered.
The primary goal of this initiative is to elevate the standard of media representation surrounding Hajj and Umrah. By engaging with stakeholders in institutional communication, the MEDIATHON aims to foster collaboration and facilitate the submission of pioneering media proposals. These ideas and projects are intended to enrich the portrayal of these significant religious gatherings through various media platforms.
The CGC and PEP envision the MEDIATHON as a platform for fostering creativity and innovation within the media landscape. By inviting participation from a diverse range of contributors, including media professionals, content creators, and technology experts, the initiative aims to harness collective expertise to address existing challenges and explore new opportunities for media coverage of Hajj and Umrah.
Through the collaborative efforts of the CGC, PEP, and participants of the MEDIATHON, the hope is to bring about positive changes in how Hajj and Umrah are portrayed in the media. By nurturing a culture of innovation and collaboration, the initiative aims to contribute to a more insightful, engaging, and meaningful media representation of these sacred journeys.
