In order to give legal guarantees to non-Arabic speaking beneficiaries, the Ministry of Justice introduced the "Request for an Interpreter" service from the Unified Translation Centre via the "Najiz.sa" portal.
According to the Ministry, the electronic service allows the beneficiary to request an interpreter in his native language to aid him in pleading and interacting with the court department and the parties to the case during judicial sessions.
She further stated that using the service is as simple as connecting into the Najiz.sa portal, selecting the litigation document, filling in the data, selecting the language, completing the relevant data, and submitting the application.
According to the Ministry, the Unified Translation Centre provides its services through utilising technology through electronic litigation, as simultaneous remote translation services with audio and video are offered during judicial hearings. This helps to save time and effort while also speeding up court procedures. According to the ministry, the centre allows non-Arabic speakers to follow up on their cases via translators who speak more than 20 languages.
