The UAE announces how to obtain a vehicle permit

What about taking a road trip across the country for your next vacation? Getting a tourist vehicle certificate is essential, regardless of whether you are a resident of the UAE or an expat. This paper guarantees that there won't be any legal roadblocks to your travel plans.

This document will attest to your car's adherence to safety and legal requirements and provide you permission to drive across state lines. Thus, ensure that all required paperwork, including an international driver's license (IDL), is in order before you get behind the wheel. Click this link to apply for IDL.

Travel inside the GCC in a registered vehicle for business or pleasure is permitted with a tourist vehicle certificate. An exhaustive checklist for individuals preparing to apply is provided below.

Qualifications:

Application for this service is open to residents, diplomats, companies, governmental bodies, and citizens of the United Arab Emirates and the Gulf Cooperation Council.

Period of validity: six months

Dubai's service charges

  • Dh100 compact car.
  • Motorbike Dh100.
  • Dh100 car weighing three to twelve tons.
  • Dh200 car weighing more than 12 tons.
  • Dh100 for small mechanical devices.
  • Dh200 for large-scale mechanical apparatus.
  • Dh100 bus with a number of passengers between 14 and 26.
  • Dh200 bus with a number of passengers exceeding 26.
  • Dh20 Knowledge and Innovation fees.

Documents that are needed

The Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai requires the following paperwork to be presented with your application.

For nationals of the GCC and its citizens:

  • An eNOC from the mortgagor if the car is mortgaged.
  • original ID from Emirates.
  • eNOC from the Automobile & Touring Club of the UAE (ATCUAE), with the exception of citizens, nationals of the GCC, and members of the diplomatic and governmental corps who wish to use their cars inside the GCC.

For residents

An eNOC from the mortgagor if the car is mortgaged.

  • Arabic translation of the Memorandum of Association (legal translation).
  • a formal request for a tourism certificate from the company in Arabic.
  • The trade license, in copy.
  • An eNOC from the mortgagor if the car is mortgaged.

  • original Emirates ID of the driver.
  • the original driver's license.

Ways to apply

  • Through the RTA website, residents can apply for a car permit.
  • Visit the website and sign up or log in, or use the UAE Pass.
  • Select Vehicle Certificates by clicking on Certificate Group.
  • To use the certificate to use the vehicle outside of the United Arab Emirates for tourism purposes, click Certificate Type.
  • Give the information that is required.
  • Give the vehicle's information.
  • Pay the necessary fees with a credit card.
  • Get the certificate by email and SMS.

Visitors looking to obtain a motor permit can visit any of the following Customer Happiness Centers located

Procedure Through Inspection and Customer Happiness Centers

  • The customer or the legal representative must be present in person.
  • Send in the necessary paperwork.
  • Make the necessary fee payments.
  • Get the certificate from the establishment.

Conditions and terms

  • Either the client or the attorney must be present in person.
  • The driver and the company representative need to be present.
  • To use this service, the client must pay all outstanding traffic fines.
  • To apply for the service, if the car is mortgaged, the customer must electronically release the mortgage or present a letter of credit from the mortgagor.
  • A driver's license must be presented if someone other than the owner is operating the car.
  • The owner and driver of the car must be present in person.
  • If the customer wishes to drive the car outside of the GCC, he must present an eNOC from the ATCUAE. This applies to both citizens and nationals of the GCC.
  • If the customer is using a cargo business to transport the vehicle, they need to give a copy of the cargo company's trade license.
  • Should the vehicle's license plates be from a consulate, the owner needs to get in touch with the Customer Happiness Center - Deira and present a letter of authorization from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  • Citizens do not require an eNOC from the ATCUAE or a Tourism Certificate from RTA in order to drive their vehicles to any of the GCC nations. On the other hand, citizens need to get an eNOC from the ATCUAE and an RTA tourism certificate.
