According to particular requirements and conditions, the UAE digital government has recognized eight different types of visas for foreign nationals, which permit them to live and work in the country.
Any of these visas can be applied for through the federal authority for identity, citizenship, customs, and port security.
The UAE provides 8 types of visas
it urged foreign nationals who are inside or outside the UAE, retiring, operating a business there, pursuing education there, or hoping to bring family members to live with them there, to learn how to apply for a resident visa through the appropriate procedures.
it stated that these kinds of visas include "Golden Residence, residence in the UAE for work, residence for remote work, blue residence visa, residence for retired expatriates, residence for establishing a business, residence for studying in the UAE, residence visa for family members" .
Golden residency in the UAE
it clarified that the "Golden residency" permits selected foreigners who are already living in the UAE or who want to visit to live there permanently.
Blue visa to live in the UAE
it made note of the "Blue visa," which is a kind of long-term residency permit good for ten years and given to people who have made outstanding contributions to the field of environmental protection.
Blue residency requirements
it continued by saying that individuals who meet the requirements for Blue residency can apply directly via the services page on the website of the federal authority for identity, citizenship, customs, and port security, or by having their names submitted by the individuals nominated by the relevant national authorities.
Residence in the United Arab Emirates for work
The term "residence in the UAE for work" is also included, and foreigners seeking to obtain it have three options: a regular work visa, which is granted to foreign nationals employed in government and private sectors as well as free zones; a five-year green residence visa for skilled workers; and residence visas for work, which are granted to domestic or auxiliary service providers.
Residency of retired expatriates
In addition to "retired expatriates residence" visas, which allow residents over 55 to apply for a 5-year residence visa under certain conditions, there are other types of visas as well. The "residence for remote work" visa permits a foreign national working abroad to legally reside and work in the United Arab Emirates. The visa is issued for a year and allows the foreign national to enter the country and live there while carrying out work for an employer outside the country.
Golden residence visa for students
The state also grants exceptional students a golden residence visa for a maximum of ten years. The green residence visa permits investors to establish or engage in business activities within the nation, subject to certain requirements. The "residence for study" visa permits a student to reside in the nation for academic purposes, regardless of whether the guarantor is one of the resident parents or has the approval of one of the accredited universities or colleges where he studies.
Residence visas for family members
Furthermore, it said, "residence visas for family members" are included in the category of residence visas. Any resident, be they an employer, employee, or investor with a valid residence permit, is allowed to bring their family and apply for a residence visa in the UAE. There is no longer a requirement to bring family members because the profession requirement has been replaced by income, which only requires housing and a minimum salary of 4,000 dirhams per month. In addition, family members who are older than eighteen must pass a state-determined medical fitness assessment.
