The UAE announces visa and residency fees in the country

In accordance with the new list of fees that went into effect on October 3, 2022, the UAE has announced the setting of costs for 21 services offered by the federal body for identity, citizenship, customs, and port security.

The 21 Services comprise: 14 distinct entry visas; multiple residency and work permits; six other services pertaining to the identity card and electronic system; and additional services for establishments. The authority clarified that the costs for these services vary from 50,000 to 500,000 dirhams.

Visitor visa

There were seven different sorts of UAE visa fees for the visit:

  • - An entry visa for a single trip costing AED 200, plus an additional AED 100 for each month of issue.
  • - Making many visits for a charge of AED 300 and AED 200 each month.
  • - The visiting visa may be extended for an additional 600 dirhams.
  • - Entry for seafarers for a single trip lasting seven days.
  • - Entry for citizens of the Republic of India from ordinary passport holders who have a visa or a green card issued by the United States and the European Union countries.
  • - Multi-entry tourist visa valid for five years at a cost of 600 dirhams.
  • - The extension of entry visas for holders of regular passports who have a green card or visa from the United States, the European Union, and the Republic of India for a charge of 250 dirhams.
  • - The cost of an entry visa is AED 200 per visa for work, entry for work to obtain a green residence, and entry for non-work residence.
  • - Visa fees for transit are AED 100 for one journey and a 96-hour period from air or sea ports; AED 50 is charged for one trip and a 48-hour period from sea ports. Golden Residence.

The newly announced fees are as follows: AED 1,100 is the entry fee for a golden residence visa, which can be used for multiple trips for a period of six months, and can be extended; AED 200 is the entry fee for GCC residents and their escorts on a single trip; and AED 150 is the entry fee for foreigners who accompany GCC nationals on a single trip.

The prices for additional visa services supplied by the authority were AED 500 for status amendments, AED 50 for entry visa cancellations or extensions, and AED 500 for visa data extensions.
The fees for a new residence permit or renewal, a new green residence or renewal for a period of five years for the investor, partner, and high-level skilled worker, and a residence without a new job or renewal amounted to AED 200, with AED 100 issuance fees for each year, according to the determination of the fees for five different residence permits. AED 1,100 is required for a new golden residence permit or renewal for a ten-year period; AED 50 is required for residence permit cancellation; and 180 days of AED 100 and AED 100 are required for each month that passes after the period of default outside of the country.

Support services

The work permit fees for hiring foreign service workers were AED5,000 for each year of issuance, AED300 for each month of temporary work permit issuance, and AED100 for canceling a temporary work permit.
AED 50 was required for the issuance of a new ordinary passport, AED 300 for the replacement of a lost or damaged passport, 105 dirhams for the issuance of a record in lieu of a lost or damaged passport, and 1000 dirhams for naturalization for each person named in the application.

Identity card

The costs for issuance or renewal of identity cards for citizens and citizens of the GCC countries were AED 100 per person for five years, 200 dirhams for each person and for the same period for citizens, and 300 dirhams for residents. The costs for issuance or renewal of identity cards for residents and citizens of the GCC countries were AED 100 per person and for each year of issuance, as well as 300 dirhams for issuing identity cards in lieu of lost or damaged cards for residents and citizens of the GCC countries and citizens for the same period remaining for the validity of the lost or damaged card.

Modifying the ID card's basic information and issuing a new one for the same remaining period of time for 150 dirhams; issuing and renewing ID cards for residents and nationals of the GCC countries of all ages without requiring an appointment in advance (Urgent Service)If the customer enters the ID and nationality service facility, they will be charged 150 dirhams.

The list of financial guarantees fulfilled for transactions provided by "identity and nationality" has identified ten distinct transactions pertaining to entry visas and other related matters. The value of the guarantee ranges from 1000 dirhams to 75,000 dirhams. These transactions include: 1000 dirhams for an entry visa for a single visit; 2000 dirhams for multiple visits; 3000 dirhams for multi-entry tourism over a five-year period; 2000 dirhams for the recruitment of auxiliary labor for a foreigner; 2000 dirhams for the list of administrative establishments; 2000 dirhams for the inclusion of the foreigner; 2000 dirhams for the host; and cancellation of the guarantor or the host without canceling the residence of foreigners with a $5,000 guarantee.

A commission chairman's resolution sets the maximum value of the financial guarantee for humanitarian cases at fifteen thousand dirhams, with a value of five thousand dirhams. The cost to bring a family member of an investor is AED 3000, up to a maximum of AED 15 thousand; additionally, the property card's financial guarantee is AED 75,000, and the electronic system subscription is AED 1000.

Penalties and infractions

Ten infractions pertaining to the authority's services were included in a list of administrative fines, with penalties ranging from 50,000 to 20,000 dirhams.
The cost is 50 dirhams per day for each day that a foreign national's permitted stay in the country expires after their entry visa, residence permit, exit permit, or newborn child's validity is canceled or expires.

Failure to commence identity card renewal in situations where it is permitted after the deadline for renewal, or delay reporting any change or modification in the data or civil facts planned for all categories and ages within thirty days of the date of the change A foreign national born in the nation will be fined 20 dirhams for every day of lateness, up to a maximum of 1000 dirhams. The fine will start to accrue after four months from the day of birth.

The penalties included late fees of AED 100 for each month that the facility card was not renewed within thirty days of its expiration date, up to a maximum of AED 1000.

2000 dirhams for misusing smart services; 20,000 dirhams for issuing entry visas for a closed establishment; 3,000 dirhams for incorrect data submitted by service recipients; 100 dirhams for printing applications incorrectly from system users; 5,000 dirhams for impeding or refusing to cooperate with TRA employees; and 1000 dirhams for altering the establishment data without informing TRA.

Exemptions from penalties

The following three groups are exempt from the fees associated with administrative fines related to "identity and nationality" services: those who have left the country and spent more than three months abroad, and whose identity card expired after the date of departure; those whose residence or identity card expired after being deported due to an administrative order, decision, or judicial ruling; and those whose passport is being withheld while their cases are pending, provided that this is supported by documentation from the appropriate authorities that stopped their deportation or identity card pending cases.
