The UAE has recently experienced a series of fuel price hikes, it's important to note that even with these increases, local fuel rates remain notably more affordable than the global average. Despite the rise in prices, local fuel costs are approximately one-third lower than the global average, providing a level of cost-effectiveness for consumers.
UAE Raises Fuel Prices for September
The UAE's Fuel Price Committee has implemented yet another round of price increases for petrol and diesel for the third consecutive month. Effective from September 1, the price of Super 98 petrol has surged by 8.9%, reaching Dh3.42 per litre from the previous Dh3.14 in August. Similarly, Special 95 petrol witnessed a 9.6% spike, with its price rising to Dh3.31 from Dh3.02. E-Plus 91 will now cost Dh3.23 per litre, reflecting an increase of 9.5%.
Moreover, Diesel prices have also undergone a significant adjustment, experiencing a rise of 15.25% to reach Dh3.4 per litre, up by 45 fils.

August saw Brent prices fluctuating in the $80s per barrel range, oscillating between $84.91 and $87.55. Hitting its peak at $87.55 on August 9, Brent prices then exhibited a decline later in the month. These price trends have played a substantial role in shaping the UAE's fuel price adjustments.
