UAE announces the cancellation of all traffic violations
The news, first reported by state-run news agency WAM, sent ripples of excitement across Oman, with many citizens expressing relief and appreciation for the UAE's generosity. Major General Pilot Faris Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police, wasted no time in announcing the immediate implementation of the fine cancellation across the emirate.
"This decision reflects the UAE leadership's commitment to fostering happiness and strengthening our bonds with our Omani brothers," General Al Mazrouei remarked in a statement. He further emphasized the ongoing efforts to streamline the cancellation process, ensuring a smooth experience for affected citizens.
The traffic fine amnesty wasn't the only outcome of Sultan Haitham's visit. The two nations unveiled a series of joint projects valued at a staggering Dh129 billion, showcasing their unwavering commitment to economic and strategic cooperation. Notably, the much-anticipated UAE-Oman railway project was rebranded as "Hafeet Rail" and confirmed to be well underway.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, further solidified the burgeoning partnership by warmly receiving Sultan Haitham in Dubai. Their meeting underscored the deep-rooted ties between the two nations, with Sheikh Mohammed famously stating, "Oman is a depth and a support for the Emirates… and the Emirates is a depth and a support for Oman."
This historic visit and its subsequent announcements mark a significant leap forward in UAE-Oman relations. The traffic fine cancellation serves as a powerful symbol of goodwill, while the joint projects pave the way for a prosperous future built on mutual cooperation.
