With the addition of eight new destinations this June, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Etihad Airways, is celebrating a huge boost to its network schedule, bringing the total number of operating routes this summer to 76.
Etihad Airways' Summer Network Growth
Etihad Airways, the UAE's national airline, is significantly expanding its global network this summer by launching flights to eight new destinations in June. This expansion increases Etihad's operational routes to a total of 76, underscoring its commitment to enhancing connectivity and meeting the diverse travel needs of passengers.
Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways, expressed enthusiasm about the airline's growth, stating, "This month marks an exciting phase for Etihad as we continue to expand our network by adding eight new destinations. We are particularly pleased with the response to our new routes to Bali, Jaipur, and Al Qassim, which have already shown strong demand based on our advance bookings."
Seasonal Returns and New Connections
The airline has commenced operations directly to several key summer destinations, including Nice and Antalya, while also resuming services to popular Greek islands such as Mykonos and Santorini, just in time for the Eid holiday. Additionally, Etihad has reintroduced flights to Málaga, a favored Spanish holiday destination, for the summer season.
A notable addition to Etihad's network is Jaipur, known as the "pink city" and a prominent tourist destination in Rajasthan, India. This marks Etihad's 11th gateway into India, emphasizing its commitment to providing enhanced connectivity and convenience for travelers in the region.
On June 24th, Etihad will commence operations to Al Qassim in Saudi Arabia, its fourth destination in the kingdom. Al Qassim is celebrated for its vibrant culture, bustling markets, and verdant date palm groves, offering travelers a rich cultural experience.
The following day, June 25th, Etihad will inaugurate its inaugural flight to Bali, Indonesia, providing direct access from the UAE to this renowned island destination. This new route not only serves as a gateway for UAE travelers but also offers seamless connections from Europe, North America, and the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) countries.
Etihad plans to operate four weekly flights to Bali, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the island's picturesque landscapes, from pristine beaches to lush rice fields. Bali offers a blend of cultural experiences and serene retreats, appealing to travelers seeking both adventure and relaxation.
Neves emphasized Etihad's commitment to enhancing its global footprint and providing passengers with diverse travel options. "We look forward to welcoming our guests aboard this summer, connecting more people to more places around the world," he stated, reflecting the airline's dedication to expanding its network and meeting the evolving travel needs of its customers.
Etihad Airways' expansion to new destinations this summer not only strengthens its global presence but also enriches travel opportunities for passengers seeking diverse cultural experiences and leisure pursuits.
