A new "easy payment initiative" has been launched by the UAE's ministry of health, allowing patients to pay for their treatments in installments using credit cards. As a result of a partnership between the MoHAP and eight regional financial institutions, the payment plan is available.
UAE's Easy Installment Initiative
Unexpected medical expenses can disrupt financial stability, causing stress on budgets. To alleviate this burden, the UAE's Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has introduced an 'easy payment initiative', in collaboration with eight local banks. This initiative aims to provide individuals and corporations with convenient installment options for settling medical bills using their credit cards.
Participating banks and eligibility
Customers holding credit cards from select banks are eligible for this payment plan. Participating banks include Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB), Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB), Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB), Commercial Bank of Dubai (CBD), Emirates Islamic Bank, Emirates NBD, Ajman Bank, and Sharjah Islamic Bank. Cardholders can apply for the easy payment plan directly through their bank's call center or other available channels.
The easy payment plan offers flexible repayment terms over 3, 6, 9, or 12 months for amounts exceeding Dh1,000. Applicants can initiate the process after settling fees using their credit cards by contacting their bank through call centers or smart applications. Each bank has specific procedures for applying, with details available through their respective channels.
Each participating bank sets its minimum fees, repayment periods, and application procedures. For example, ADIB offers repayment periods of 3, 6, or 12 months through their smart app or call center, while ADCB provides options of 3, 6, 9, or 12 months via their call center. Similar details are provided for other banks, ensuring customers have varied options to suit their preferences and financial capabilities.

By facilitating installment payments for medical expenses, the 'easy payment initiative' aims to ease financial burdens and improve the overall quality of life for individuals and communities. This initiative aligns with MoHAP's commitment to enhancing customer well-being and embraces innovative financial solutions to meet evolving needs.
The introduction of the 'easy payment initiative' reflects the UAE's commitment to providing accessible and convenient healthcare services for its residents.
