By virtue of his decree No. 38 of 2023, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in his capacities as Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Court, and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, created the Notary Services Bureau in English in Abu Dhabi.
Innovative English-language judicial services
Counselor Youssef Saeed Al-Abri, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, described this groundbreaking move as a significant step toward enhancing the ease of doing business in Abu Dhabi. It also aims to boost the emirate's competitiveness in the global marketplace while attracting and retaining foreign investments.
Benefits for businesses
The new Notary Services Bureau offers notarization and authentication services for English-language contracts and documents without the need for translation. This not only streamlines legal documentation procedures but also saves time, effort, and resources. The shift towards digital services is expected to enhance customer satisfaction and improve the quality of services.
Removing language barriers
The bureau caters to non-Arabic speakers and removes language barriers for foreign customers. It simplifies the notarization and authentication of various documents in English, such as company contracts, board of directors' decisions, minutes, powers of attorney, and declarations. This move is anticipated to boost investor confidence in judicial services and make Abu Dhabi more appealing to foreign investors.
Serving non-Arab residents and companies
The new judicial services office is designed to meet the needs of non-Arab residents and companies operating in Abu Dhabi. Its specialized services cater to the emirate's economic and demographic requirements, further facilitating business operations and bolstering its competitiveness.
Comprehensive English document services
The Notary Services Bureau offers its services in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 11 of 2017 on notary public services in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. These services include notarizing and authenticating various English documents, encompassing contracts, declarations, settlements, powers of attorney, board of directors' decisions, and more.
A commitment to innovation and efficiency
The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department's commitment to innovation and efficiency reflects its dedication to continually improving judicial services and procedures. These efforts align with Abu Dhabi's aspiration to become a global economic hub, attracting businesses, multinational companies, and top talent from around the world.
This forward-thinking initiative demonstrates Abu Dhabi's readiness to adapt to the needs of the global business community, offering a welcoming and efficient environment for international investors and businesses seeking opportunities in the emirate.
